When you're strolling or driving through downtown Seattle, it's impossible to miss the Fairmont Olympic. This 95-year-old hotel is magnificent and regal, taking up nearly an entire city block. And if you have plans to be in the city during the holiday season, step inside and prepare to lose your breath. This place takes Christmas decor to a whole new level.
The Fairmont Olympic Hotel is located on University Street in downtown Seattle, where it has spent nearly a century pampering visitors and locals alike.
This is one of the city's premier destinations, and the holiday season is the best time to go.
The lavish lobby is always adorned with a massive tree in the center, and it's truly remarkable.
You'll see guests snapping selfies and families taking holiday photos here frequently.
In addition to the gorgeous centerpiece tree, you'll notice some smaller Christmas trees in the lobby as well.
These are the Trees of Hope, which are sponsored by local businesses. And when you book a Trees of Hope package at the hotel this season, a portion of the rate will go to Seattle Children's Hospital.
As if the amazing lobby wasn't enough, head toward the front doors and you'll see a life-size illuminated gingerbread house guests of all ages can walk through.
Needless to say, this is quite popular with young guests.
Speaking of youth, if you have little ones in your life, don't miss the Fairmont's Teddy Bear Suite.
The suite is open to the public every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You don't have to be a hotel guest to see it.
The Teddy Bear Suite is free to enjoy, but if you can spare a cash donation, please do — all proceeds go to Seattle Children's Hospital.
The suite is located on the second floor, and it's as amazing as it looks.
After all that excitement, you may be able to talk the kids into enjoying a holiday tea service with you.
The onsite restaurant, The Georgian, does a wonderful Holiday Tea each afternoon, and there's a special snack menu for little ones.
You don't even have to enter the hotel to see the Christmas decor.
All the retail shop windows are decked out as well.
Walking through the Fairmont Olympic is a holiday tradition for many Seattle families, and it's easy to see why.
It's pretty much impossible not to feel joyful when you're in the presence of so much Christmas cheer.
Ready for some holiday magic? Book a stay at the Fairmont Olympic and enjoy all this festive fun.
