Friday Harbor is such a unique and wonderful area of Washington. If you are planning a trip to this area you are going to want to keep an eye out for places you might want to visit. Here are a few things to do in Friday Harbor, WA:

  • Pelindaba Lavender Farm: Imagine 25 acres of vibrant and fragrant lavender blossoms set against the backdrop of the Olympic Mountains. This delightful farm is an amazing place to spend some time on a warm Friday Harbor summer day. You can also purchase over 200 lavender-based items to take some of the joy home with you.
  • San Juan Island Farmers Market: Spend a Saturday morning exploring this wonderful farmer's market behind the movie theater in Friday Harbor. It is open from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. and features farm fresh food, crafts, flowers, baked goods, and much more. Come for the food, stay for the live music, and leave with a full cart and a happy heart.
  • The Whale Museum: Have a whale-of-a-good time at the Whale Museum where you can learn all about the beautiful and fierce Orca and its seafaring cousins. Learn about the adopt an orca program so you can support education and research programs that help all of these whales live out their lives with a happy family. (Okay, fine, you don't actually get to keep them, but they sure do appreciate the thought)
  • Lime Kiln Point State Park: One of the best places to spot whales on San Juan Island is in this lovely state park. It is also well-known for its stunning bluffs and rugged coastline. Your best chance to spot whales is from May to September when you'll see humpback and minke whales chasing salmon.
