This lovable neighborhood gem has been serving residents and visitors since opening its doors in 1941. At that time, the restaurant began as a limited partnership and was established for just $600.
The Roanoker Restaurant
Unfortunately, World War II broke out just six months after the restaurant opened. One of the partners, Crafton and Florence Warren, continued operating the restaurant as civilian neighborhood volunteers, packing food to feed soldiers that would stop in town.
Much has changed since the eatery first opened, but the quality of food has not. Recipes handed down for generations still make an appearance on the menu today.
