Virginia’s Cliffside Restaurant Has The Most Incredible View
Since nothing beats dining with a view, there’s a restaurant that every Virginian needs to know about. Tucked away in Eggleston awaits a delicious restaurant that happens to be perched near a true natural wonder known as the Palisades. You may recall a
recent post detailing this incredible attraction. For today’s article, we’ll focus on the incredible food that awaits inside the Palisades Restaurant.
Let’s take a look:
Housed in an old mercantile store, the Palisades Restaurant is a hidden gem along Virginia's picturesque New River. The exact location is 168 Village St., Eggleston, VA 24086.
Inside, you'll notice the historic charm of the original Pyne’s General Store building in the exposed brick and pressed tin ceilings.
In the early 2000's, the Palisades was reopened as a charming restaurant nestled in Giles County. Today, the restaurant attracts both foodies and nature lovers to this naturally beautiful location.
The pork chop entree, photographed below, is one of the most popular items on the menu.
The breaded trout -- sourced locally, of course -- with fresh cole slaw salad is another crowd pleaser.
For an out-of-the-ordinary treat, you can order the homemade pizza topped with elk sausage, peppers, and pineapple.
For dessert, you can polish it all off with homemade apple pie topped with cheddar ice cream.
And while the food is certainly delicious, perhaps the most unique aspect of all is the proximity to the breathtaking cliffs along the River.
No matter the time of year, a visit to the Palisades Restaurant and the nearby cliffs are an absolute must.
