Welcome to the beautiful Hone Quarry Recreation Area! This 5.5-acre lake is tucked away in the scenic Rockingham County within the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests.
But first, let's get to the waterfall. From the parking area, hikers will follow Hone Quarry Road for quite some time before taking a right at the dedicated hiking and biking path called Slate Springs Trail.
Hikers have noted that there are often puddles and potholes to navigate, and some trees that have fallen across the path, but by all accounts, it's a magical trek.
Given that there are a few important directions to follow, we'd recommend consulting the AllTrails map. Or better yet, download AllTrails+!
