To get started on your day exploring Montpelier, take 1-89 South, from Burlington, for about 40 minutes. One of the best ways to experience Montpelier is to wander around the downtown area, browse through the stores, and grab a bite to eat.
Make sure to stop by the State House to admire the architecture and learn more about Vermont's government.
When you're ready to stretch your legs and spend a little time outdoors while you're in Montpelier, head to Hubbard State Park Observation Tower.
If you're a bit of a history buff, make sure to include the Vermont Historical Society Museum on your itinerary.
When you're ready to refuel, head to The Skinny Pancake for a sweet or savory crepe.
You can also stop by Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks for a free tasting and tour. While you're there, pick up a few souvenirs from the country store and explore the grounds too.
