Factory-made pies just can't compare to the handmade pies you've had at home...or the pies made from local farmers, either. This apple orchard on Lake Champlain has been in business since the late 1800s and once you have their pie, you'll understand why people keep coming back again and again for more.
Allenholm Farm is a seventh-generation Vermont apple orchard that first opened in 1870.
They grow 25 different types of apples as well as raspberries, blueberries, and tart cherries.
In addition to the apple orchard and store, the farm is also home to a few furry, four-legged friends.
From chickens and a dwarf goat to miniature horses and one hilarious donkey, there are lots of new friends you can make at their petting farm.
But what they're really known for is Papa Ray's Pie.
All of their pies are made by hand with fruit that they grow on their farm.
People love their pie so much, that they even sell the pie crust for you to make one at home with your own filling!
You can also just purchase the pie dough on its own and craft your own sweet treat recipe.
There are plenty of locally-made gifts available for purchase in their store as well.
For delicious pies and adorable farm animals, head on over to Allenholm Farm.
When it comes to handmade pies, where's your favorite bakery or farm in Vermont to get yours? We'd love to hear about it in the comments!
Allenholm Farm is open everyday from 9 AM - 5 PM from Memorial Weekend up until Dec 24th. For more information on what they have to offer, visit their website by clicking here.
