There are over 50 state parks in Vermont. While there are plenty to go to when you're in the Green Mountain State, Green River Reservoir State Park is an ideal choice if you'd like to enjoy some time in nature without tons of crowds.
Located in Hyde Park, Green River Reservoir State Park is unique from other parks in that you need to paddle in order to get to a campsite. Therefore, since it's a bit quieter and novel than other parks in Vermont, Green River Reservoir State Park is the perfect destination to spend a day (or a few) making lasting memories with your friends and family. Your pets are even allowed to come too!

Green River Reservoir State Park's season is from late May to early October. If you're looking for a serene spot to take in Vermont's foliage, head to Green River Reservoir State Park in September and October.
Although the park doesn't have kayaks and canoes available to rent, you're welcome to bring your own. There's a boat launch available for you to use too.
One of the many things that make Green River Reservoir State Park stand out is that you'll need to take a kayak or canoe to get to your campsite.
Since there are 27 campsites scattered throughout the park, you can enjoy some peace and quiet if you decide to stay overnight.
During your visit, feel free to also keep your eye out for local wildlife.
Since the park is open until sunset, plan accordingly so you can take advantage of views like this at the end of the day.
