Tucked away in the small town of Santa Clara is one of the best hidden gems in the state. In fact, if you didn’t know it was there, you’d probably drive right by it. Dutchman’s Market is a gas station, boutique, gift shop, convenience store, and bakery. And while it may not look like much on the outside, once you step through its doors, you are in for a real treat.
From the outside, Dutchman’s Market in Santa Clara looks just like your typical gas station. However, when you step inside, there are so many treasures and delicious goodies to be found.
Dutchman’s Market began in 1986 when Nick and Liisa Frei, who were young and expecting their third child, decided to open a store. With family roots in the Santa Clara area, the couple got to work, creating one of the best stops in southern Utah.
When you walk inside Dutchman's Market, you’ll find all types of goodies. This is one of the few places where you can fuel up your vehicle, grab a treat for the road, purchase a darling gift for a friend, and devour a homemade cookie.
While Dutchman’s Market offers all types of products, you won't want to leave without one thing — its baked goods. The bakery inside this unassuming gas station is where you can purchase Dutchman’s Cookies, one of the most beloved cookies in southern Utah.
You’ll find several cookie flavors at this bakery but you must try the pink cookie. Dutchman’s Market is home to the original pink cookie and it is the perfect treat when you are craving something sweet.
While you enjoy your cookie, spend some time browsing the boutique that is also located inside Dutchman’s Market. Here, you can find all types of items from toys and books to thoughtful gifts.
You’ll find items that will cheer you up, put a smile on your face, and even make life a little easier.
Dutchman’s Market is open Monday through Saturday. This small town store is more than a gas station — it’s your one-stop shop for everything happy!
