Boulder is a small town in southern Utah that is delightful in every way. It sits at the base of Boulder Mountain, with approximately 300 residents calling it home. Boulder has quite an interesting history and despite being so small in size, there is a lot to do and see in this area from camping, hiking, fishing, and even taking a scenic drive. However, regardless of your reason for visiting Boulder, there is one place you must visit while in town — Sweetwater Kitchen.
To reach the Sweetwater Kitchen, you must travel four miles down Hell’s Backbone Road and then take a paved road through the Dixie National Forest. You’ll find this restaurant inside the main lodge at Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch, which is surrounded by mountains, forests, and pure southern Utah beauty.
Every part of this restaurant is gorgeous. From the restaurant’s windows, you’ll capture mountain views and glimpses of the Sweetwater Stream, which is where this restaurant received its name.
At this Utah restaurant, it is believed that food should be appreciated and respected and provide energy and health. To achieve this, the majority of all ingredients are organic and grown in the on-site garden. Even the meat is sourced from Utah and is organic or pasture-raised.
The dinner menu is where the Sweetwater Kitchen really shines. You will find small plates with items like macaroni and cheese and trout cakes to large plates with mouthwatering entrees like steak, fish, and chicken.
