With its beauty, accessibility, and various activity options, it’s no wonder the Neffs Canyon Trail is one of the most popular winter hikes in Utah.
The Neffs Canyon Trail is not a short hike. This is a 7-mile, out-and-back hiking trail at the base of Mount Olympus.
You’ll want some hiking experience before venturing on this hiking trail, particularly during the winter months. There are several steep areas of the trail and throughout the entire hike, you’ll climb more than 3,500 feet in elevation.
Due to the traffic on Neffs Canyon Trail in Utah, a lot of the snow is packed down quite well. However, you will still want spikes for your boots and snowshoes once you get farther into the hike and encounter deeper snow.
If you are up for a little adventure, bring a sled with you. In the winter, due to the steep inclines, many hikers love to ride down the trail on a sled for a faster and more adrenaline-filled descent.
