Welcome to Merlin Olsen Central Park! This pretty park was built in the late 1800s and was one of Logan's first city parks.
The park was renamed after Merlin Olsen in 1983. He was a famous football player who was born right here in Logan, and he attended Utah State University prior to his career as an NFL player with the Los Angeles Rams.
This pretty park covers nine acres, and it's shady and cool on a hot summer day.
A picturesque, shallow canal runs right through the park, and it's lined with huge willow trees.
It's the perfect spot to sit and relax...
...or cool off with a bit of wading.
The kids will also enjoy the playground, so plan to stay long enough to let them burn off some energy.
They can climb and slide on the play structure, soar high on the swings, and practice their climbing skills on the little climbing wall.
They'll go home happy and tired after an afternoon here!
The park also offers tennis courts and volleyball courts, picnic pavilions, restrooms, and drinking fountains.
During your visit, keep an eye out for wildlife. Though the park is right in the middle of town, it's often a haven for mule deer and other animals...
...and the squirrels chattering in the trees above will keep you entertained with their antics.
