Cotopaxi is a stratovolcano located in Ecuador, in the Andes Mountains. Smith, who spent much of his childhood in Ecuador, adopted the name for his company.
You'll find all kinds of gear here, from clothing items to sleeping bags and backpacks. It's all designed to be durable and is guaranteed. If something goes wrong with the gear, you can return it for a replacement or an exchange, or have it repaired in-house.
Cotopaxi's creed is to, "Do Good." It gives 1% of all profits to "addressing poverty and supporting community development." The company offers a grant program that has awarded 42 grants in six different economically-challenged countries.
Some of the products here are one-of-a-kind. Check out the Repurposed Collection. The items in the collection are all made from repurposed materials. Basically, when a factory has extra material, they contact Cotopaxi, who repurposes the fabric into packs and clothing. The material is diverted from the waste bin, and used to create limited-run pieces that are truly unique.
