While many have heard of the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail, fewer people realize there’s a relatively new trail that spans the entire length of the U.S.The aptly-named American Discovery Trail winds its way from coast to coast, traversing 15 states and totaling in at an astounding 6,800 miles. This network of trails and roads begins on the Delmarva Peninsula on the Atlantic and continues through Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and finally, California. While this distance would seem taxing to even drive, there are avid outdoor enthusiasts who have completed its entire length.
