Definitely Take A Summer Day Trip To This Charming Town In Vermont
Chester is one of those towns in Vermont that is classic, charming and a photo taking paradise. It's a great place to take a summer day trip and see something new. If you like Woodstock, you'll love Chester!
With a population of 3,144, which is pretty big by Vermont standards, Chester is able to keep its small town charm.
Although there are 55 stone buildings in Windsor County, this Stone Village Historic District is notable for having ten in close proximity.
Their unique construction dates back to 1838, and though all the stone houses were built in the same manner, there are a variety of different styles. Some of the stone houses include secret rooms that were once a stop on the Underground Railroad.
But the stone houses aren’t the only examples of lovely architecture and fine craftsmanship in Chester. With a great central location, it’s a perfect stop and stroll when you’re on your way to Okemo, Stratton or Killington.
Summer enthusiasts love the biking boating adventures. And the leaf peeping is great with such a charming backdrop such as Chester.
Pop into some of the interesting art, antique and jewelry shops and browse at your leisure.
You never know what you’re going to find, such as this beautiful pendant from Sage Jewelry.
Grab a fresh and colorful bite to eat at the Moon Dog Café and see for yourself why it’s a local favorite.
Until next time, Chester!
