With a Farmer’s Market, Nearby Reservoirs, and Seasonal Festival, There’s Nothing Like a Summer Weekend in This Utah Town

Brigham City offers a perfect summer weekend with its farmers market, wildlife viewing, and nearby reservoirs.

Summer in Utah — nothing could be better. When the weather turns warm, many people head into the mountains and to the national and state parks in the Beehive State. But, here at Only In Your State, we love visiting small towns. There is one small town in particular that is perfect for a summer weekend in Utah — Brigham City. This northern Utah town has a fabulous farmer’s market, excellent wildlife viewing, is located near a beautiful reservoir, and so much more. It’s the perfect place to spend a warm summer day.

Brigham City is located in northern Utah and is home to approximately 20,000 people. It’s a beautiful place to explore, and one small town that will quickly capture your heart.

In fact, Brigham City is home to one of the best downtown areas in Utah. You could easily spend a day exploring this small city and visiting attractions like the Box Elder Tabernacle, Idle Isle Candy, and more.

If you visit this northern Utah town during the summer, you will certainly stay busy. There are a plethora of activities for you to enjoy starting with the Brigham City Farmers Market. This market takes place in historic downtown, Saturday evenings from June to September. You will not only find fresh produce and handmade goods, but you can also enjoy live music and delicious food items.

For some wildlife viewing opportunities, head to the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge just outside of town. Here, you can simply sit and observe the animals or go for a drive. There are more than 200 species of birds found at this Utah refuge, and you never know how many you may see in a single morning or afternoon.

For some time on the water, you have two close options: Mantua Reservoir and Willard Bay State Park.

Just a few miles to the west is Mantua Reservoir. This body of water is a lovely spot for fishing, swimming, and boating. Plus, you can always walk around the Mantua Reservoir Trail for a fun adventure.

Willard Bay State Park is less than 10 miles south of town and is home to a huge freshwater reservoir. This park features a beach, picnic shelters, boating opportunities galore, and even a campground. Keep in mind that this state park can become extremely busy during the summer months, so plan your visit accordingly.

If you need to cool off, spend your day at the Brigham City Swimming Pool. This city pool features a small area for children, a waterslide, plenty of space to spread out, and more. It is open from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend.

If you wait to visit Brigham City until the end of summer, you can attend the extremely popular Peach Days Festival. Thousands of people flock to this small town at the end of each summer for arts, crafts, carnival rides, activities, vendors, and, of course, all things peaches!

Brigham City has it all for the perfect summer weekend. From shopping and exploring to boating and wildlife, there is truly something for everyone.
