The One Town In Utah That Turns Into A Winter Wonderland Each Year

Most Utahns have visited Park City at one time or another. We've written about all the cool things to do there in the summer, but many Utahns don't visit Park City in the winter, unless they go up to ski. That's a mistake. This little mining town is a winter wonderland when it snows. And with all the shops, restaurants and sight-seeing, it would be a shame to pass up such a quaint spot. Take a look!

Park City was founded in 1869 and enjoyed the silver boom for almost 100 years.

Many of the original houses remain, and they've been lovingly restored.

The ski resort was built in 1963 and has increasingly gained popularity ever since. This town was one of the primary venues for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

If you live in Utah, and you enjoy skiing, you've probably skied Park City Resort.

Of course, you don't have to be a skier to enjoy this winter wonderland! Stroll along historic Main Street to find boutiques, coffee shops, bookstores, restaurants, bars and more. Many of the buildings along Main Street are on the National Historic Register.

Enjoy the scenery on sunny days...

...and grey, cloudy days, too.

The sky takes on an ethereal quality at dusk.

And it's simply stunning at sunset.

Watch for wildlife! Mule deer and moose are particularly plentiful in Park City.

The mountains surrounding the town are home to many species of birds and mammals.

We're not gonna lie - it's cold out here!

Folks who live up here will tell you, "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing." Bundle up so you can explore this magical place.
