This Epic Wind Tunnel In Utah Is Perfect For An Adventurous Day Trip

Experience the thrill of skydiving indoors at iFLY in Ogden, where you can float effortlessly in a wind tunnel.

Have you ever had that dream where you're flying high above your house? You're weightless...and the feeling is amazing. Some people get that same feeling by skydiving, but you won't catch me jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. At least not when there's a much better alternative right here in Ogden.

You'll find iFLY at 2261 Kiesel Avenue in Ogden.

It looks like a normal building on the outside, but what happens inside is pure magic. (Well, actually it's science, but it feels pretty magical). iFLY is open Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM.

Imagine defying gravity and floating effortlessly in the air...without jumping out of an airplane. Utans experience this one-of-a-kind adventure every day at iFLY.

Don't worry - there's no experience needed. You'll start with a basic First Flight Class, and progress from there. Before you know it, you'll be flying in the 12-foot tunnel with speeds up to 150 mph!

You might be wondering how this works. It's pretty simple, really.

First-timers will get some classroom instruction, then you'll get ready to fly with a helmet, goggles, earplugs, and jumpsuit. There's no experience needed, but we should warn you...once you take a flight, you'll be hooked. Plan on one hour and 45 minutes for the entire adventure.

In the wind tunnel, you'll get some hands-on help from your instructor.

You'll learn the basic free fall position and see what it's all about. During your First Flight Class, you'll get two, one-minute-long sessions.

The basic First Fight Class costs $55, which includes the classroom training, gear instruction and two flights. If you want a longer experience, you can choose the $99 package, which doubles your flight time to four minutes and includes a DVD of your flight and a t-shirt to commemorate your very first indoor free fall.

The best thing about iFLY? Just about everyone in the family can join in the fun.

Kids ages three and up can take a flight, and there's no upper age restriction as long as you're healthy. iFLY recommends that those with back, neck, or heart problems check with their doctor before flying. Pregnant women and anyone over 300 pounds may not fly.

Even the Jazz Bear has taken a flight!
