If you know me, you know that I love Park City, Utah. This resort town is not only an incredible place for foodies but there are cozy vacation rentals that can turn a quick overnight adventure into the most unforgettable getaway or staycation. While any time of the year is delightful in this small town, there’s nothing quite like the winter. When the snow falls, this town of approximately 8,500 residents transforms into a winter wonderland. It truly comes alive under a blanket of snow.
Park City is one of the most well-known small towns in Utah and for good reason — it’s charming in every single way. While you can find plenty to do during the summer, there’s nothing quite like winter.
Park City is located in the Wasatch Mountains, just a short drive from Salt Lake City. Due to its ideal location, it has become known for its bucket-list-worthy ski resorts.
While there are several places where you can spend a day on the slopes, Park City Mountain Resort is a must-visit. This resort offers up to 7,300 skiable acres, making it one of the largest ski resorts in the entire country.
You can also head to Utah Olympic Park where you can take a guided tour and learn all about the 2002 Winter Olympics and many of its achievements.
While here, I recommend you experience a heart-racing journey on a bobsled. You’ll soar down the Olympic track for the bobsled, skeleton, and luge events.
And while there are many winter activities to keep you busy, one of my favorites is simply taking a stroll down historic Main Street. Under a blanket of snow, the historic buildings tend to stand out even more. You’ll find all types of businesses from restaurants and bars to boutiques and coffee shops on your walk.
You may even just want to take a drive and admire all of the unique homes and buildings elsewhere around town. Covered under snow, they are beautiful in every way.
The mountains are also stunning this time of year. Enjoy them from a distance or go snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or snowmobiling to enjoy the scenery even more.
Park City is a small town with so much to offer. It’s a destination where you’ll want to come and stay for a while during the winter months.
