A Remote Winery In South Carolina, Victoria Valley Vineyards Is Picture Perfect For A Day Trip
Visit Victoria Valley Vineyards in South Carolina for a scenic drive, hiking, and wine tasting.
There's a winery in the Upstate located at the base of South Carolina's largest landmark - and you'll want to visit. What's more, to get there you'll drive on one of the state's most scenic byways, the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Byway (SC-11). The drive, seeing the colossal landmark, and then visiting this remote winery make this trio the perfect combination for a day trip in the Palmetto State. Here's why you should visit the Victoria Valley Vineyards in South Carolina:
Firstly, any drive along SC-11 (a.k.a. The Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Byway) is a day trip waiting to happen, if you have the time.
The road is 118 miles long and dishes up numerous long-range mountain views and countless places to stop, including state parks, waterfalls, charming eateries, lodging and ... Table Rock State Park, shown here.
For just $5 (or less depending on your age) you can get into this park and hike to the top.
Or, just hike around the base and admire the cascading waterfalls like this one, Carrick Creek Falls.
The famous landmark is visible for miles and miles on SC-11. If you wanted to, you could just wave as you're passing, or even stop along the highway and take photos.
Just four minutes up the highway and a quick left turn sits Victoria Valley Vineyards. If you want, you can head there first and then go for a hike at Table Rock afterward.
Perched practically at the base of Table Rock, this 10+ year old vineyard is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon.
Modeled after a French chateau, this cozy destination will soon become one of your favorites in the Upstate.
Come hungry too, if you'd like. They have a delightful menu of sandwiches and salads that pair perfectly with the wines they offer. This is their Ham & Swiss Panini.
And you know what this is. From this seat you'll be looking at the very vines it came from!
Victoria Valley Vineyards has a large outdoor patio with both covered and open-air seating.
Plan to sit, relax and enjoy the view...
which just happens to include that famous landmark only a few miles away!
