Bolinas is a quiet seaside community in Marin County. Isolated by the Bolinas lagoon, this quaint hippy town has been able to preserve its classic 19th-century character through the years.
Bolinas is mostly accessible via unmarked roads. Many Bolinas road signs along State Route 1 have been torn down by local residents.
Mother nature here is breathtaking. The mighty Stinson Beach is only minutes away from the main town of Bolinas.
There is a stunning lagoon near the town of Bolinas. The town runs the length of Bolinas Lagoon and continues northward through Tomales Bay.
The downtown area of Bolinas is located along Wharf Road, which ends at Bolinas Lagoon. Most of the buildings here were mostly built between 1850 and 1920.
Check out Point Reyes National Seashore, which is a 71,028-acre park preserve located near Bolinas. Make sure to take the time to see Alamere Falls.
Alamere Falls is a rare tide fall, and one of only 2 in the continental USA. A tide fall is a waterfall that flows directly into the ocean. Please note that getting to this waterfall can be tricky, but worth the effort.
Agate Beach Park at Elm Road and Ocean Parkway. At this park, the beach, scenery and tide pools will amaze you.
Hiking opportunities abound in Bolinas. The unspoiled nature and lack of development means that this area is for the adventurous and few.
