Road Trips are a blast, but doing them with the whole family in tow can be a bit of a planning endeavor. You want to make sure that there isn't too much driving time between stops for kids to become restless, that each place is engaging for everyone involved, and that there's time to get in a meal that the whole family will enjoy. Rhode Island is chock full of adventures that are perfect for the whole family, and this family friendly road trip, which includes five exciting stops and under 2 hours of total drive time, is a great way to experience a lot of them. 1. Adventureland Family Fun Park
This trip starts at Adventure Land Family Fun Park. At this amusement park in Narraganset, your family can enjoy mini golf, bumper cars, go carts, a carousel, and more! There is something to be found for the most extreme of thrill seekers, and those who prefer a more relaxed kind of adventure.
2. Biomes Marine Biology Center
Next you will drive a quick 23 minutes to reach Biomes Marine Biology Center in North Kingstown. Biomes is the only private marine education facility in New England and offers tons of hands on fun perfect for kids. They can check out touch tanks, and observe the largest collection of New England specific marine life in the entire world!
3. Camp Nowhere
After all of that fun, your family will surely be hungry, but why stop the adventure when you can make your meal a blast as well! To do this, take a half hour drive to Providence to Camp Nowhere in Providence. This spot is themed after a campground with stools made of spent kegs! All food items are $3.99 every day so your meal is guaranteed to be affordable. With great options like loaded slider burgers, nachos, and multiple types of fries, there will be something for everyone in the family.
4. Rhode Island Museum of Science and Art

Once you've eaten your fill it's time to get back on the road and make the quick fifteen minute drive to the Rhode Island Museum of Arts and Sciences . This museum is an absolute dream for kids, with tons of interactive exhibits like a zoetrope, harmonograph, and even good old fashioned spin art!
5. Roger Williams Park Zoo
Your final stop is only 10 minutes away at the Roger Williams Park Zoo. This massive conservation focused zoo has so many amazing animals to be seen. There is even a rainforest exhibit where monkeys fly over your head, and a petting zoo where the kids can feed goats and interact with other farm animals.
