One Of The Most Unique Towns In America, Harrisville Is Perfect For A Day Trip In Rhode Island
Harrisville in Rhode Island offers a charming day trip with historical sites, scenic views, and unique attractions.
Rhode Island may be tiny, but it sure has its fair share of interesting places to explore. If you're looking for a great day trip with friends and family, just look up a list of towns in the state and pick one, you're guaranteed to find something new and interesting that you may have never seen before. One place that is perfect to spend the day exploring is adorable Harrisville.
Harrisville is a tiny village located in the town of Burrillville.
The majority of the village is made up of a historical district that is actually listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
With a population of under 2,000, Harrisville really meets the descriptor of small!
There are a couple of gorgeous Churches to visit, lots of historical homes to observe, and some precious shops to browse in along your travels.
This tiny town is really built for walking around, and if you find yourself needing a break, there are lots of great restaurants to visit for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
We recommend a stop at Wrights chicken farm for a tasty meal and some fun novelties.
There are also some natural sights that can't be beat in Harrisville.
Make sure to visit the Round Top fishing area for prime views and some good fishing if that's your thing (the stream is annually stocked with trout!)
The Harrisville Mill Bridge is also a great little stroll for lovely leaf viewing!
And last but not least, we can't forget Harrisville's creepy history. There is a historical cemetery to be found, AND this town features the house that the notorious horror film the Conjuring is set in. Can you find it?
The house is private property, but you can still see it from the road.
We love this small historical town for a fun day trip! It's just charming and there's more to do in a few acres than anyone would expect. What are you planning to see when you visit Harrisville?
