12 More Perfectly Picturesque Small Towns In Oregon (Part 2)

Oregon is full of charming towns and wonderful cities. Last month, I published an article featuring 22 of Oregon's most picturesque small towns, but since there are so many lovely places in Oregon to be explored, I decided to create a part two.

From gorgeous seaside cities to bucolic rural communities, these towns in Oregon are full of beauty, history and charm. Here are 12 small towns in Oregon that are absolutely delightful:

12. Gold Beach

This lovely small town has a population of less than 3,000 and is the county seat for Curry County. Located on a beautiful stretch of the Oregon coast, this historic town was renamed in the 19th-century because of the large amount of gold that was found there.

11. Stayton

Stayton is a small town of almost 8,000 residents, located in Marion County on the North Santiam River. Here's a photo of the lovely Stayton–Jordan covered bridge.

10. McMinnville

With a population of 32,000, McMinville is the largest town on this list, although it maintains a wonderful small town charm. Located in Yamhill County, McMinnville has a delightful downtown area with some of the best restaurants in the state.

9. Richland

Richland is a tiny town in Baker County, population 156. Look at the farmland and rolling hills---it's the definition of bucolic.

8. Bandon

Bandon is a charming, historic coastal city in Coos County with around 3,000 residents. In 2010 it was listed as one of the "Coolest Small Towns in America" by BudgetTravel. Here's a photo of the stunning Coquille Lighthouse.

7. Fossil

Fossil is a quaint town with a population of less than 500, and it's absolutely charming. Located in Wheeler County, the town hosts the anual Wheeler County Fair and Rodeo and is also home to the only public fossil field in the U.S.

6. Vernonia

Located in Columbia County, this small town (with a population slightly more than 2,000) is at the heart of Oregon's timber industry. It's a lovely, interesting place to explore.

5. Culver

This 1,357-resident town in Jefferson County is located near the beautiful Lake Billy Chinook. Here's a view of the town from Round Butte.

4. Powers

Located in Coos County, Powers is a tiny town (population 689) situated along the South Fork Coquille River, not far from the coast. If you're a history buff, be sure to check out the The Wagner House (one of the oldest pioneer houses in the area) and the railroad museum.

3. Elkton

Located on the Lower Umpqua River in Doulas County, Elkton is a charming little town with less than 200 residents.

2. Drain

Drain is a delightful town (population 1,151) located in Douglas County. Here's a photo of the beautiful Pass Creek Covered Bridge.

1. Union

The beautiful town of Union is best known for its fascinating history, (the town was platted in 1864 and is located on the Oregon Trail), as well as its gorgeous, varied architecture.
