1. Hayden Falls (Dublin)

Located in the heart of the state, Hayden Falls is hidden in a suburb of Columbus and is becoming increasingly popular among locals. The gorge where the falls are located features a boardwalk and overlook area, and it's one of the most easily accessible waterfalls in Ohio. The Griggs Nature Preserve is open daily from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m., and it's one of those spots that you'll easily find yourself returning to again and again.

2. Indian Run Falls (Dublin)

Less than 10 minutes from Hayden Falls, you'll find this enchanting urban waterfall, which is also located in Dublin. Dublin is one of the most charming towns in Ohio, and it’s worthy of a side quest if you have the time. As its name suggests, the European-inspired town boasts a rich Irish culture and plenty to do. The Field of Corn is one of the most unique roadside attractions in Ohio and fits in perfectly with this waterfall road trip.

3. Big (and Little) Lyons Falls (Mohican State Park)

Mohican State Park is home to a pair of low-flow falls. Pictured is Big Lyons Falls within a 300-foot deep sandstone gorge. Both of the falls are best seen after heavy rainfall, so hopefully you can get your timing right. There are some stairs to reach the base of the falls, which allow you to get up close and personal with this beautiful waterfall in Ohio. You can even get behind it, if you don't mind getting a little wet from the spray!

4. West (and East) Falls (Cascade Park)

Our next stop along this Ohio waterfalls road trip brings us to not one, but two spectacular waterfalls! Within Cascade Park, close to downtown Elyria, impressive waterfalls flow from both the East Branch and West Branch of the Black River. (Pictured are the West Falls.) The 1.2-mile loop trail is a must-do.

5. Brandywine Falls (Cuyahoga Valley National Park)

This breathtaking 65-foot waterfall flows from Brandywine Creek. These beautiful falls are a popular highlight within Ohio's very own national park. Near the falls, the 1.5-mile Brandywine Gorge Trail allows you to explore beyond the waterfall. As one of the most popular waterfalls in Ohio, expect crowds for this beautiful cascade.

6. Lanterman's Falls (Mill Creek Park)

The falls at Lanterman's Mill within Youngstown's metro park are downright charming. Take some time to explore the surrounding park before you leave this stop.

7. Upper Falls, Lower Falls, and Cedar Falls (Hocking Hills State Park)

Several beautiful waterfalls can be found along the Old Man's Cave trail within the Hocking Hills State Park. This impressive hiking spot is stunning all year-round, but the falls are best seen after a notable rainfall. (Pictured: Upper Falls.)
