3. Union Square

4. Hickory Veterans Memorial: 210 MM German Howitzer
The memorial, located at the west end of Union Square, was installed by American Legion Post 148 on May 30, 1927. Originally the weapon was placed to honor those from the community who served in World War I. Later, it was rededicated to honor all veterans from the area.
5. Vintage House
Tucked inside Hickory's historic 1915 Abernathy home, you won't find any finer food than in this elevated American bistro, including the classic meals you'd expect, such as seafood, steak, and pasta.

6. Henry River Mill Village Historic District
In 1905, this valuable site opened as a cotton yarn manufacturer with several structures, including a three-story brick mill that was destroyed by fire in 1977.
