Calling all donut lovers! Check out this Maryland road trip that will lead you to some of the best donut shops in the state. We tried to keep the total driving distance reasonable so that you could hit up all of the shops in one morning or afternoon. Hop in the car -- sugary bliss awaits!

Welcome to our Maryland Donut Trail! The total driving distance between the shops is about an hour and a half. Be sure to also leave time for chowing down at each and every spot.

1. Cloudy Donut Co. - Baltimore

The first three stops are in Baltimore, as Charm City is known to have a lot of delicious donut shops. First, head to Cloudy Donut Co. This spot offers preordering if you desire -- just call 443-885-9042. The various donut flavors are always changing so there's always something to please every palate.

2. Full Circle Doughnuts - Baltimore

Full Circle Donuts is full of personality, from their decor to their donuts. There are all sorts of sweet varieties of donuts and the occasional savory ones as well -- don't miss the soft-shell crab donut!

3. Diablo Doughnuts - Baltimore

Diablo Donuts is tiny but mighty. The donuts here are oh-so colorful, topped with cereal, candy, and more. There's no happier way to start the morning.

4. Carlson's Donuts - Severn

Carlson's in Severn offers great donuts at great prices -- it doesn't get better than that! Whether you're craving glazed, sprinkled, or chocolate-topped, this place will surely satisfy any sweet tooth.

5. Arundel Donuts - Glen Burnie

The donuts here are always fresh and fluffy. These melt-in-your-mouth treats are worth seeking out. Don't miss this teeny spot that packs BIG flavor.

6. Donut Shack - Severna Park

Head to Donut Shack for amazing donuts paired with quality coffee -- the perfect morning combination! Reviewers especially love the glazed variety but you'll want to try every single flavor. You can't go wrong.

7. Sandy Pony Donuts - Annapolis

This is one of two Sandy Pony Donuts locations in Maryland (the other one is in Deale). This sweet spot definitely doesn't skimp on toppings. The donuts are the perfect size -- not too big, not too small -- where you'll want to keep making more room in your belly for more flavors.
