Atchison, Kansas, is a town rich in history and natural beauty, known for its enchanting scenery and connection to Amelia Earhart.
It's not commonly known that Kansas is full of beautiful places, but we're more than big cities full of art and endless farms. We've got plenty of natural beauty hiding all over our towns of all sizes, and sometimes it's positively enchanting. This beautiful town in particular is sure to stand out from the rest!
Atchison is nestled alongside all those pesky big cities in Northeast Kansas, and its full of history and natural beauty. It also may or may not be haunted, but that doesn't cut into just how gorgeous the scenery here looks.
There's the Moon Tree in the Forest of Friendship, looking lovely in every season, might I add.
They're devoted to history's favorite flying daughter, Amelia Earhart, and her Childhood Home is a museum full of classic beauty. Just look at this expertly crafted lawn!
Every year, the summer skies are filled with fiery beauty for their Amelia Earhart festival's Concert in the Sky. It might not be natural beauty, but the sunset before the celebration is always a treat.
The fall is by far the most gorgeous of Atchison's seasons, with red and orange leaves framing every historic building and home.
Speaking of sunsets, Atchison has lots of greenery to frame the colors painted in the sky every morning and evening. What a city!
