Georgia is known for many wonderful things: beautiful old architecture, rich history, Southern hospitality, and of course, some of the most charmingly special cities and towns in the entire country. Especially the particular town of Peachtree City, Georgia, which is so unique, it can be deemed anything but extraordinary.
With a population of around 35,000 residents, Peachtree City is a wonderfully unique place right in the heart of Georgia.
From the outside, this beautiful city looks like any other average place...yet, there is something glaringly different about it.
The city has been integrated with a 100-mile network of multi-use paths that are used often as a means of transportation for...golf carts.
City residents can go from the schools to the mall, through the woods, and of course, to grab a quick snack.
It's not unusual that you'll see your neighbor grabbing coffee from the Drive-Thru in their golf cart.
Last time they checked, there was over 10,000 of these carts freely roaming the city.
Peachtree residents have even gone as far as building their own cart garage onto their homes.
Businesses have started accommodating the golf carts, too, since there are so many.
State legislation was passed in 1974 allowing golf carts on public streets in Peachtree City, especially because it was noted that pollution was down as well as road accidents.
This quiet, one-of-a-kind city in Georgia is worth checking out, even if it's just to get some much-needed R&R.
