Take A 1.5-Hour Drive Through Georgia To See This Year’s Beautiful Fall Colors
Take a scenic drive from Brasstown Bald to Tallulah Gorge to experience Georgia's stunning fall foliage.
Georgia’s fall foliage will surely be a sight to see this year. And if you don’t want to brave the cold temperatures to enjoy a little bit of natural beauty, then you should probably stay in your car and tackle this quick drive instead. Clocking in at just under an hour and a half, take the drive from Brasstown Bald to Tallulah Gorge for an epic fall foliage viewing experience. Gas up the car and let’s take this fall foliage drive in Georgia and marvel at all the beauty of the vibrant season.
There are many different ways to get from Brasstown Bald to Tallulah Gorge, but we chose the one with the best possible fall foliage vantage points.
First of all, starting off in Brasstown Bald, you’ll be beginning this short trek with the ability to see for miles in any direction.
Imagine the sea of color you’ll enjoy as you stand on top of the highest point in Georgia.
From here, you’re going to want to hop on Rte 180 and travel through High Shoals Falls, which of course, we recommend stopping and seeing the fall foliage surrounding this stunning waterfall.
The High Shoals Falls Trail is a 2.3 mile out and back trail which makes for the perfect morning jaunt to see the changed leaves up close.
Get back on the road and follow along GA-17 and GA 356 to Raper Mountain Rd.
From here, you’ll be able to take a little detour to the stunning town of Helen, which will have its very own fall foliage show put on every year.
You can even take a detour and visit Unicoi State Park which will be as brilliantly colorful as you’d expect.
Just follow along the route from this point, enjoying all the natural beauty you’ll see outside your window as you drive.
You’ll eventually reach the destination—Tallulah Gorge State Park.
From here, we recommend getting out and hitting the trails—the natural beauty and fall foliage you’ll see from this vantage point is one of the best in Georgia.
