Orange County Model Engineers is tucked inside Fairview Park in the city of Costa Mesa. Catering to people of all ages who love trains and riding the railroad, this local gem is always a fun place to visit.

Show up on the third Saturday and Sunday of every month and you and your family can partake in a free train ride along their 1.25-mile route. Although the rides are free during Public Ride Days, donations are accepted and encouraged.

Free rides on the small-scale trains are offered between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Orange County Model Engineers.

Please take note, there is a height requirement to ride the train. In order to ride the rails at Goathill Junction, passengers must be at least 31 inches tall. If the little ones are not the required height then they will not be able to ride on the train.
