I'm sure most of us Texans have heard of Jellystone Campground - after all, we have seven different locations across the state! But just in case you've never been or haven't visited since childhood, you'll be absolutely blown away by all the park has to offer. You don't even have to leave the grounds to experience all the best aspects of a family trip. In fact, it's such a great place that the Hill Country location was voted one of the top 25 hotels for families in the entire country!
So if you've already started planning your vacations for this year, consider adding Jellystone Park to the list. Chances are, there's one near you - and even if not, it's absolutely worth the drive.
Jellystone Park is truly an all-in-one family vacation. There are more than 18 activities, including everything from swimming pools to laser tag, on the grounds. Every member of the family is sure to find something they enjoy here.
There are nine separate types of cabins to choose from, sleeping between four and 16 people and ranging in price from $108-$338. Click here to read more about the different options and the amenities available in each of them.
Pictured is the living area of one of the Hill Country Cabins, which sleeps up to 10 people and starts at $184/night. The cabin has a full kitchen and bathroom, a queen bed, twin bunk, loft with two twin mattresses, and a futon. You'll also enjoy cable TV, a picnic table, fire ring, charcoal grill, and covered porch - everything you need for fun, quality family time.
Don't want to pay to stay in a cabin? No problem - bring a tent or your RV and rent a campsite for $46-$64/night. The RV sites have a 30/50 amp electric, running water, a sewer system, cable, a picnic table, fire ring, charcoal grill, and large concrete pad.
The fun is absolutely endless. Splash the day away at this interactive, dinosaur-themed water playground with cannons, slides, blasters, and a giant bucket that dumps hundreds of gallons of water on your head. The entire family will enjoy spraying each other and having fun in the sun.
Other water attractions at the park include an outdoor and indoor swimming pool as well as a shuttle service that takes guests to the Guadalupe River for tubing. Temperatures are about to start climbing, and Jellystone provides plenty of opportunities to cool off!
There are tons of other hands-on activities for adults and kids alike to participate in. Gem mining, disc golf, an arcade, a basketball and volleyball court, arts and crafts, and much more is available for your enjoyment. You name it, it's here - there are very few things I can think of that Jellystone doesn't have.
Various special events take place throughout the year, the next one being a Spring Fling on April 6-8. There's also an '80s weekend on April 20-22 and a Cinco de Mayo celebration May 4-6.
Of course, Yogi Bear himself can be found roaming the grounds. Be sure to stop him and get a family picture! You can even enter your photo into the "Best Vacation Ever" contest for a chance to win a $150 gift card to the park.
The address for the Hill Country park is 12915 Farm to Market 306, Canyon Lake, Texas 78133, and the addresses for the other locations can be found by clicking the link in the introduction of this article.
