One Of The Most Beautiful Buildings In The World Is Right Here In Texas
Texas is full of gorgeous architecture: the Williams Tower in Houston, Frost Bank Tower in Austin, and the star of this article, Fort Worth’s Kimbell Art Museum. Business Insider asked architects their opinions on the most beautiful buildings in the world, and this one right here in Texas made the list. It forever changed how museums use natural lighting to enhance the ambiance and accentuate the art exhibits, making it a modern masterpiece.
Designed by Louis I. Kahn, the museum is regarded as one of our modern world's most significant works of architecture.
The museum itself is renowned for its vaulted gallery ceilings that bathe the rooms in a soft natural light. The vaults are inspired by those of ancient Rome and are definitely a sight to marvel at.
The first vault pictured is an open portico that houses the courtyard, so visitors can smoothly transition from the peaceful outdoors to the art galleries.
All in all, even if you aren't an art buff, everyone can appreciate the intention and intricacy of the Kimbell Art Museum and take away something valuable from a visit.
