Spend A Magical Afternoon At Texas Discovery Gardens, One Of Texas’ Largest Butterfly Houses
Butterfly season only comes a few times a year, but you can admire the beautiful insects in every season at the Texas Discovery Gardens. Spanning two stories, this epic butterfly house is among the largest in the state, and it features a plethora of different species.
Open year-round, this organic oasis features both native and adapted plants, a snake shack, and the ever-popular Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House and Insectarium.
It's open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday.

Located on the lower level, this glass enclosure is home to a bevy of butterfly chrysalises and moth cocoons. Arrive at the right time, and you just might see one break out and enter the world!
Perhaps the queen herself will make a grand appearance during your visit.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 60 and up, and $5 for children 3-11. Children two and under get in free, and Wednesday is "pay-as-you-wish," or donation-based entry.
