Texas’ Largest Inclusive Playground Is Undergoing A Massive, $6 Million Expansion

Some exciting changes are coming to Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio, Texas’ largest inclusive playground. The 25-acre park is blazing the trail when it comes to all-abilities recreation, with a wheelchair-friendly Ferris wheel, train ride, carousel, and so much more. Morgan’s Wonderland recently closed to the public until Spring 2024 to undergo its largest expansion yet, which will total $6 million upon completion. New attractions include everything from a sensory-friendly roller coaster simulator to a wheelchair-accessible zipline. Morgan's Wonderland in San Antonio is the world's first "Ultra-Accessible™" theme park, boasting over 25 all-abilities attractions on its sprawling, 25-acre campus.
This seasonal waterpark provides a unique opportunity for everyone to enjoy some fun in the sun, complete with waterproof wheelchairs, waterproof bags for ventilators, and O2 water-collar covers for guests who need to cover tracheas. This island paradise features a variety of epic attractions, including a boat ride, a giant treehouse, a music garden splash pad, and more.

One of the most popular attractions in the park is Sensory Village™, which encourages imaginative play via five themed areas, including a newsroom, a grocery store, and an arts and crafts station.
Totaling $6 million, the expansion will include several new attractions as well as upgrades to existing attractions. The park is closed until Spring 2024 to facilitate the expansion.
Among the new attractions is a 4D Cinema, which will be located in Sensory Village™, that affords guests the feeling of riding a roller coaster from the comfort of a chair.
There will be an option to disengage the motion effects for those who prefer a visual-only experience. How realistic does this space-themed scene look?!
Other planned attractions include an accessible zipline, a boat ride across the park's 8-acre lake, and a ride called "Jette's Wonder Bikes," which features hang-glider-style cars, equipped with pedals, that fly in a circular pattern in the air.
