The Unassuming Trailer In Texas That Serves Burgers To Die For
Us Texans are big fans of unassuming restaurants. Why put unnecessary effort into the atmosphere when the food is what really matters? Fancy five-star restaurants are cool and all, but I’d rather go to a place where I know every ounce of effort was put into the quality of the dishes. Coyote Bluff Cafe in Amarillo is one such place. Resembling a mobile home more so than a restaurant, you wouldn’t expect it to be one of the best restaurants in the city – but that’s the beauty of these kinds of places. You won’t find a juicier, more flavorful burger in the panhandle.
It looks more like a mobile home than a restaurant, but everyone who's been knows it's the one place you can't leave Amarillo without trying.
This is "just" the original, but don't let that understatement fool you. It's still an enormous burger with all the fixings that's sure to leave you absolutely stuffed.
And if you leave without an order of cheese fries, it would be an absolute crime. They're made with real green chiles, smothered in cheese, and served with sour cream for dipping.
The California burgers is another favorite. It comes loaded with guacamole and sour cream - a combination that's sure to be a fiesta for your taste buds.
Here's a better look at the menu. You can also order a steak, chicken sandwich, or salad if you aren't in the mood for a burger (but let's be real - you will be).
The atmosphere is the icing on the cake. Checkered tablecloths and Texas memorabilia combine to create an old-fashioned Southern diner ambiance that has nostalgia written all over it.
