The Restaurant In Tennessee That Serves Grilled Cheese To Die For
Grilled cheese is not only a nostalgic bite back in time, but an all-American comfort food that’s wildly under-appreciated. Thankfully, Tennessee understands – and The Grilled Cheeserie of Nashville was born. First a food truck, soon to be a brick-and-mortar eatery, this is the kind of spot you bring your grandparents AND grandkids. Everyone will find something they love.
Born in 2013, The Grilled Cheeserie made a name for itself traipsing around Music City. The menu is simple and succinct, an idea with which successful companies like In-N-Out have found a massive response.
You can choose from specialty melts, like the Buffalo South, a sandwich that proffers a warm blend of organic pulled chicken, pepperjack cheese, buffalo sauce, pickled celery, Bleu cheese aioli and sourdough bred. Um, YES. This ain't the sandwich yo' mama made you.
While many flock towards The B&B of Tennessee (carmelized apple jam, bacon and cheddar) or The French Onion (too many amazing ingredients to count), you can also choose to make your own sandwich with bread bases that include rosemary garlic or multi-grain options, or include an add-on like fresh avocado or smoked jalapeno relish.
Gluten-free? No problem. There is even a gluten-free bread option that you can specify before you order - and you end up with something wonderful, like that sandwich right up there. YES.
The food truck is also known for their tater-tot sides. But, again - this isn't school cafeteria style. No, you're lookin' at your favorite childhood foods all grown up with a sourdough bread makeover.
You'll want to check their website or social media accounts for the location of the Grilled Cheeserie Food Truck for now, but there will soon be an eatery of their own opening up in Hillsboro Village. For the five-time Food Truck of the Year winner in Nashville, we'd say it's about time.
