Cove Lake State Park is located on the eastern side of the Cumberland Plateau, situated in a mountain valley that's naturally lush and stunningly diverse. There are multiple nature trails in the park, but the paved walking and bike trail known as the Cove Lake Paved Walking Trail is perfect for easy access.

The lakefront loop is 3.1 miles in its entirety and it will take you from waterfront views into the wooded areas of the park. The trail is open throughout the year, and though it is fairly popular, you can visit during the earlier hours of the day to have the walkway to yourself.
