Nashville has expanded from a tiny southern city to one of the most incredible metropolitan hot spots in the south, giving Atlanta and Charleston a run for their good old-fashioned money. In spite of its meteoric rise to fame, the Nashville restaurant scene still boasts a couple of down-home spots that are perfect for easy nights out and about. There’s no need for a suit jacket at Wildwood Resort and Marina just outside of Nashville – have you been?

It's a true weekend getaway spot just an hour from the heart of Nashville. The space offers up a fabulous eatery, camping and lodging space, and all sorts of fun activities.
This summer heralds its first offering of pontoon boat rentals, kayak and canoe rentals, as well as paddleboard opportunities and cabins.
You can choose from campsites to cabins to Airstreams, each just a stone's throw from the water. And when you get hungry? Well, you just head on down to the Timberloft Restaurant.
Small and locally owned, this delicious Timberloft eatery specializes in Tex-Mex, bbq and their newly minted fresh from the oven pizzas.
Their happy hour is killer, and you can choose to either dine in the restaurant itself - or on the patio!- or choose to have them cater your event.
Their patio dining is truly indulgent, a gorgeous respite from the rush of the day. Make sure you plan ahead, though - Tuesday through Thursday features happy hours and pizza, whereas the full restaurant menu runs from Thursday to 4pm on Sunday nights.
You can't beat a quick pop in the lake and a pizza afterwards, can you? Thankfully, WIldwood offers both in spades!
