Devour The Best Homemade Chicken And Waffles At This Cafe In Nashville
If you’re looking for a place to spend the morning, perhaps a locally owned eatery that’s perfect for gathering with friends and family, then Shugga Hi Bakery and Café in Nashville is where your search ends. The bakery, café, and bar conglomeration is great to visit any time of day, and the brunch menu is one of the best culinary hidden gems in the city. Learn more about it below, and make sure you head on over this weekend! This is one hot spot you don’t want to skip.

If you find yourself driving down Dickerson Pike in East Nashville, Tennessee, you’re bound to spot the bright blue building that is home to Shugga Hi Bakery and Café. The restaurant is owned and operated by sisters Kathy and Sandra, and the menu was inspired by the shared legacy of their mother.

Shugga Hi opened in the summer of 2017 and it was quickly embraced by the local community. Inside you’ll find contemporary artwork balanced with vintage pieces and pops of color, all elements that add to the homey, fun feel of the space.

Shugga Hi Café also plays host to a series of live events throughout the year, so make sure you ask about upcoming events when you visit. There’s nothing quite like a meal enjoyed with the twang of a live guitar in the background. It doesn’t get more “Nashville” than that!

The menu features a handful of old-school favorites like chicken fingers and BBQ wings, but it’s the chicken and waffles that keep folks coming back for more. Brunch is served in the morning, and you can indulge in everything from a Shugga Hi Cake Waffle Burger topped with beef, bacon, tomatoes, cheese, onion, and lettuce, or a fish sandwich that highlights golden fried fish.

That platter of chicken and waffles though, you can’t beat it. For less than $12 out the door you can enjoy golden fried chicken served up with syrup atop a Shugga Hi cake waffle. It’s the perfect blend of sweet and savory to start your day.

You can also choose to enjoy just a simple cake waffle served with maple and two types of syrup, or perhaps the tater tot waffle. Brunch is currently served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. but is subject to change.

You can visit Shugga Hi Bakery and Café in Nashville, Tennessee from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Friday to Saturday, and until 2 p.m. on Sundays. Although we're sure you're chomping at the bit to visit, the eatery is closed from Monday to Thursday.
What a wonderful place to visit! You can learn more about Shugga Hi Bakery and Café either on its official website or Facebook page. Will you be ordering that chicken and waffle platter, or do you think you’ll be visiting for a strong cup of joe?
