In the last ten to fifteen years, Nashville has absolutely exploded with craft breweries and distilleries, making the trip down the beer aisle at Kroger more and more difficult as the breweries grow in number. Many of these breweries have also opened taprooms where you can go straight to the source and get the freshest beer you’ll ever have, some excellent food, and have a great time with your friends. We’ve found the best in the city for you and your crew to experience for yourselves. Enjoy!
Southern Grist, like many Nashville breweries these days, has a taproom in East Nashville and another in the Nations. The brewery is just barely 10 years old, but once you visit their taproom, it's easy to see why they've been able to open two in such a short amount of time.
Jackalope is another fairly new Nashville brewery, and they've been holding down their spot on 8th Avenue S. for almost a decade. Fun fact: it was started by two women and they were the first brewery in Nashville to can its beer. You go girls!
TailGate also has two locations, one in East Nashville and one way out in West Nashville on Charlotte Pike. The West Nashville location is a bit of a hike, but they have lawn games and occasionally do movies in the brewery room itself!
Fat Bottom Brewing used to be in East Nashville but has since moved to its newer and bigger location in the Nations where they have this beautiful outdoor patio. If it's nice outside, this is the place to be.
Yazoo is still holding down its spot in the heart of the Gulch, making this one of the most accessible brewery taprooms from anywhere in the city. They also offer tasting tours, which are way to good to pass up.
Tennessee Brew Works is tucked back in to a side street just south of downtown, but it's one of the city's favorite taprooms. The beer is great and the patio offers views of the skyline!
Black Abbey doesn't look like much tucked on an industrial street in South Nashville, but the inside is reminiscent of a monastery, and the beer is absolutely heavenly. If you find yourself in South Nashville or Berry Hill, this is the place to go.
