After a long morning at work, there’s nothing better than a decadent sandwich. It’s the best way for the morning to meet the afternoon, and here in Nashville, Tennessee, the go-to spot for meat lovers is Bare Bones Butcher. This west side staple operates both as a butcher shop and an intimate eatery, and it’s one we’d highly recommend if you want a classic sandwich served with a side of southern hospitality.

Bare Bones Butcher is a locally owned and operated butcher shop that's located in the heart of West Nashville, Tennessee.

The space operates both as a whole animal butcher shop and also a small eatery. You can choose to take fresh cuts of beef, pork, lamb or chicken to go, or you can indulge in an intimate menu on-site.

The small grocery shop provides a myriad of cheeses, vinegars, spices and fresh produce that are bound to round out any party you're planning.

Bare Bones is a whole animal butcher shop that sources from Tennessee farms within 60 miles of their brick-and-mortar shop. During the summer season, Bare Bones will sell fresh chicken and lamb alongside their classic offerings of dry-aged beef and heritage pork.

Looking for lunch? We'd highly recommend the pastrami sandwich, made with house pastrami, swiss, Russian dressing and pickled cabbage on sourdough, but the hot ham or fried bologna sandwiches are also incredible.

Cheeseburgers and bahn mi, a beef tongue hoagie, a Cuban sandwich or a po'boy, they're all on the menu and made fresh to order. Bare Bones Butcher knows how to hit your cravings just right. Make sure to snag a side of beef fat fried potatoes, while you're at it.

Will you be visiting for all your meat-centric needs? We'd highly recommend it! Stop by from from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Wednesday to Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays. The shop is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
