A butcher shop may seem like someplace your grandparents frequented back in the day, but here in Nashville the meat monger industry has been infused with a breath of fresh air. Bare Bones Butcher just opened its doors in Music City and has already made quite a name for itself in taste and in reputation. Even if you're just curious, we'd recommend coming by for a hot second - who knows? You may find yourself a regular.
Last year, the widely known Porter Road Butcher finally closed its Charlotte Avenue location, leaving the building empty until Hugh Baby's refurbished the space. Since then, however, the west side has had a solid hole.
Enter Bare Bones Butcher: the locally owned store operates as a grocery, eatery and whole animal butcher on 51st Avenue in West Nashville. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10am-7pm and Sundays from 9am to 3pm.
Wesley Adams and Patrick Davidson are the scheming duo behind the ultra-successful new spot. They both worked together at the now defunct PRB location, and realized that they were passionate about providing local meats to a solid customer base.
Although, yes, you'll find meat within these walls, you can also pick up local produce and dairy alongside specialty items. It's a one stop shop for dinner!
If you're not looking to take something home, you can hang out for a hot second and enjoy a cheeseburger or roast beef sandwich. The thing is, you know the entire meal will be fresh!
