The story of this local legend began long ago on the West Coast and has since made its way deep into the hearts of local Tennesseans. You can find the Nash Family Creamery in the beautiful countryside of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, tucked away amidst the state’s rolling hills. As the name suggests, the family-owned farm focuses on crafting high-quality cheeses and dairy products in thoughtfully honed, small batches.
The Nash family has a deep history in the dairy industry. Their story began in Central California in 1929 and has since grown and expanded to include the fourth generation of farmers. In the mid-2000s the Nashs made the decision to move to Tennessee and open the now-beloved Nash Family Creamery.
The cow milking parlor fits 48 bovines, and the quality products manufactured on-site have garnered a cult following in rural Tennessee. The excellent milk is used to create 20 different, decadent ice cream flavors available at the farm’s creamery cafe.
You’ll find favorites like homemade vanilla and cookies and cream on the menu, as well as a buttered pecan, stuffed full of roasted, buttery pecans, and a chocolate brownie batter flavor studded with real brownie bits. Looking for something for the kids? Try the cotton candy crunch!
If you’d like to take your favorite flavor on the go, then purchase a hand-packed pint! There are bakery items available as well, including cinnamon rolls, fudgy brownies, and creamy cheesecakes.
The café also offers a curated lunch menu with a cheese focus. High-quality dairy is used in the sides of white cheddar mac and cheese and loaded baked potato salad, and you won’t want to skip out on the specialty grilled cheeses. The roast beef and cheddar sandwich is also a great option, served on fresh sourdough bread.
