The River Rat Tubing Outpost - officially known as the Smoky Mountain River Rat Main Tubing Outpost - is a locally owned spot in Blount County that offers tubing gear and trips down the Little River.
The river is stunningly clear, and it's the perfect location for tubing adventures. There are currently two options available for tubing enthusiasts, and whitewater rafting tours as well.
When you first show up to tube with River Rat, you'll meet a team of triple-certified safety guides who will be able to explain the floating process and experience with you before you head out.
The River Rat Main Outpost is a family-friendly float that will take you to a rock jump, through stunning (safe!) rapids, and past scenic views throughout. It is the only dog-friendly float available.
You can also choose to go on the River Rat Outpost B float, otherwise known as the "adventure float," where you'll have the chance to float along faster rapids and plunge into clear swimming holes. Children must be 6 years or older to ride.
Each tubing trip time will fluctuate depending on the water level, but the Main Float should take a little less than 2 hours, and the Adventure Float usually takes about an hour.
