Summer is all about fun, and what better way to do that than to present a festival so jam-packed full of fun events that it lasts nine whole days? That is precisely what Fun Fest in Kingsport, Tennessee, is all about: taking the joy that comes from our sunny days and filling them with parades, sports, recreation, food, fellowship, and so much more. This event is fast approaching, so you will want to get your tickets and clear your schedule so you can make the most of this wonderful and aptly-named event.
Fun Fest is an annual event, and like its name suggests it is one of the most epic festivals of the summer!
Fun Fest is *nine* whole days so packed with activities that one could not simply do and see it all. One of the best things about Tennessee is the community and to see everyone pull together to put on such a crazy event is just heartwarming. Not only that, but it gives us Tennesseans just another excuse to get outside and fellowship with one another, and as you can see from this picture plenty of people come on out for this event!
If you love sports or a good challenge, then there are plenty of options to jump into at Fun Fest. Take your team to the volleyball tournament, fight for dominance at the softball one-pitch tournament, play some lawn games, or just watch the local legends take home the gold.
They will also be hosting a parade, a dance party, and so much more fun to be had. Summer is all about parties and that fact isn't lost on the creators of this event because even though the festival itself is like one big party, they also will host a block party, pool party, and other great ways to celebrate.
The stately and historic Allendale Mansion will be offering tours, a picnic with food trucks, live music, and croquet. Places like Bays Mountain will be offering their "dollar days" where all of the programs within the park are only one dollar. The beauty of this festival is how everyone gets involved all across the city.
Fun Fest attracts some big names in the music world, and the live music is certainly an event highlight.
These exciting concert experiences are set at very reasonable prices to see huge names in the music industry. This year the lineup will feature Danny Gokey, Boyz II Men, Clay Walker, and Chris Lane. Each artist will be featured on various nights and a great way to close out a day of ridiculous amounts of fun.
After nine fun-filled days, Fun Fest closes out the event with a bang -- quite literally. After the last concert on Saturday, the firework show begins. This massive display of fiery explosions is enough to make most 4th of July celebrations a little embarrassed! So make sure you don’t miss the spectacular ending to this incredible festival.
