This Sharecropper's Cabin is a primitive experience that's tucked away in the beauty of rural Cosby, Tennessee. Peace and quiet reign supreme here in the Great Smoky Mountains, and if you're looking to truly get away from the wilds of the world this is the spot.
There is no heat or air conditioning in the cabin, and four cots - not beds - are provided for visitors. You'll want to bring an extension cord if you're looking to bring a fan, but no heaters are allowed.
Inside the cabin you'll find that the cabin is not sealed, and the metal roof and dirt floor make for a quirky experience. Mother Nature reigns supreme here!
The property is located on the ridge line, and the owners live right on the other side if you need any help. There's also a nearby pavilion known as the "Saloon" that is a communal space boasting electricity, picnic tables, a fireplace, and charcoal grill.
The cabin is known as a "three-season cabin," mainly because the chill and snow of the winter season makes it difficult to really enjoy the beauty of the space and area.
There are two large water catchment barrels that are used for showering and handwashing. Although the showers aren't completely private, you should know that 99% of the time the visitors to the cabin are the only folks in the surrounding area.
