Bigfoot has long since avoided the public eye, lurking, hiding, and camping out deep in the woods — and, as a result, the hunt is, as it were, still on. After years and years of cryptozoologists scratching their heads at the evidence, I think we might have found him… at Bigfoot Philly Cheese Steak in Wears Valley, Tennessee. Okay, okay — I might not have found him for sure, but what I have found is an awesome sandwich shop with a fun Sasquatch theme.
When the owner originally moved from Philadelphia, PA, to small-town Tennessee, it was initially just for work.
But like our state has a tendency to do, we wrapped him in our warm Southern embrace and he was just taken away by our charms. Now with a good dose of Southern hospitality, he knew he had found a home. (Yes! We got another one). However, what the Volunteer State had in charm and hospitality, it did lack in authentic Philly Cheese Steaks, and this man knew just what he needed to do.
Now sitting in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains this quaint restaurant stands with a proud owner who has brought us a little taste of Pennsylvania. The wafting smell of grilled goodies and smoked meats is sure to lure you in... with a few furry guests in tow.
This elusive creature has made his way all over the Smoky Mountain area, so you never know where he might show up. The motto at Bigfoot Philly Cheese Steaks is “Portions so big they could fill a Sasquatch.” So you can expect the big guy himself to take them up on the offer.
The star of the show of course is the Philly Cheese Steak. There are all kinds of ways you can order your sandwich, but know that most of them come with almost a whole pound of meat! So whether you load up on the peppers, caramelized onions, beer cheese, or all of the above, you will leave with a very full and very satisfied belly.
Not only do they perfectly grill up these behemoth 'wiches, but the smoked BBQ dishes also beckon folks from far and wide with their tantalizing aromas. Always a Tennessean favorite, make sure to check the options of smoked meats: pulled pork, brisket, and many other barbecue favorites can be put into sandwiches that are to die for.
