This Epic Underground Hot Spring In Utah Is What Dreams Are Made Of
Perhaps you've noticed...it sure is cold outside right now. Deep into January, we're still looking at another couple months of frigid temperatures, snow and ice. So, how does a soak in some nice, 96-degree water sound? Heavenly, right? Take a look at what's hiding underground in Midway, Utah!
Homestead Resort is located at 700 Homestead Drive in Midway. It's a beautiful place year-round, but especially in the winter.
As soon as you arrive, you'll notice a huge, 55-foot-tall dome.
In the winter, you might not be able to see the water trickling down the side of the dome into the pool below.
Walk into the side entrance and through a small tunnel, and you'll soon see the surprise...
A steamy, warm pool of water. The pool is created by a geothermal spring under the earth's crust.
The temperature stays at a constant 96 degrees Fahrenheit, making it a very pleasant spot to soak, snorkel or even scuba dive.
In fact, people come from all over the country to scuba here. You can get scuba certified while enjoying the super warm water temperatures. The pool is about 65 feet deep.
Relax on one of the underwater benches and enjoy a nice soak, or paddle around in the mineral-rich waters.
You might decide to stay overnight at The Homestead, where you'll enjoy comfortable accommodations.
During winter months, you can even take a sleigh ride in the snow.
