There’s A Little Known Cabin In The Woods of Tennessee… And It’s Truly Haunting
The cabin from Sam Raimi’s cult horror movie “The Evil Dead” is still standing near an East Tennessee town.
Sam Raimi's cult phenomenon movie "The Evil Dead" was released to the public in 1981, when the now-renowned horror director was barely legal. The site of the horrifying film, one that pushed boundaries regarding gore and violence in film, is actually still standing a stone's throw from one East Tennessee town. Although the cabin is now located on private property (aka: don't trespass in Appalachia country), you can get a quick peek at it right here.
Sam Raimi began work on "The Evil Dead" at the ripe old age of 20, building a cult hit on an excessive amount of gore and violence.
The story revolves around a couple of college kids who plan a weekend away in a cabin in the woods, giving birth to a whole new horror genre.
And where, you might ask, is this cabin? Right outside Morristown.
Yep, it's true. This terrifying set was located in the deep woods of Tennessee.
The original cabin, however, was pretty much destroyed in the making of the film. The cast even left a time capsule in the stone fireplace.
It's an eerie thing, to think of this place out in the middle of nowhere, filled with the terrifying memories of a horror film from long ago.
You can always adventure, if you dare.
